Deb Johnson dj@funkyscarf.com artist web site Inspired by Jackson Pollack's use of paint, Deb creates one-of-a-kind wearable art, randomly stitching deconstructed fabric, raw fiber and yarn in what appears to be accidental collisions of color. The result is a unique line of scarves, belts and shawls in bold and vibrant hues.
Deb’s background includes traditional fiber arts - hand spinning, dying and knitting. Yet, these outlets became too limiting in terms of expression, leading her to focus exclusively on this unique, textural collage process.
In addition to exhibiting at Studios on High, Deb exhibits at fine craft shows throughout the Midwest.
