Carol is a lover of nature. She spent her childhood exploring the countryside around her rural Indiana home. Drawing and imaginary play filled many hours of her development. Studying art education and commercial interior design at Purdue University, Carol worked in the design and space planning field for 10+ years until taking time off to raise children. During that time, she returned to drawing, becoming a skilled colored pencil artist.
After her husband's mid-career move to Columbus, OH, Carol became involved in oil painting. Today, she paints what she loves, from the ever changing beauty of the landscape to the unexpected loveliness found in everyday objects in the still life. She paints both "en plein air" and in her studios, finding that her practice of developing studies outdoors sharpens her observational and drawing skills.
Carol's blog, "An Artist's Journey" discusses her process and shows her latest work. It can be found at www.cfgranger.blogspot.com where she welcomes comments and questions.
