STUDIOS OH HIGH GALLERY TURNS 25
Studios on High Gallery Prepares for 25th Anniversary April 2011 will mark the 25th anniversary of Studios on High Gallery. Founded in 1986 by two Cental Ohio artists, the gallery has evolved into a unique juried collective of 18 local artists. Plans include a celebration and exhibition at the Cultural Arts Center to include all current Studios on High Gallery members as well as select alumni. Studios on High Gallery holds a unique place in Columbus' Short North. With artists demonstrating daily, the gallery provides an opportunity for education and interaction with painters, ceramic artists and jewelers. "We're looking forward to a year-long celebration of the arts and community that have given Studios on High Gallery its longevity in the midwest art scene," says Judy Hoberg, Ceramic artist and one of the gallery's founding members.

SOHG ARTISTS PARTICIPATE IN FUND RAISER FOR THE JAMES
April, 2011 SOHG Hosts Joan's Fund Mask Kick-off "Courage Unmasked for Joan's Fund Campaign Launch" was held on May 21, 2010 at Studios on High Gallery, Global Gallery and the Cookware Sorcerer. This project is a fundraiser benefiting The James - Ohio State Cancer Center for head and neck oncology research.
Artists were matched with head and neck cancer survivors to transform a survivor's radiation mask into fine art. 13 of the 16 artists in the phase one juried selection are from Studios on High Gallery. Beginning in the fall of 2010, the finished masks will be displayed in venues throughout greater Columbus to increase awareness of head and neck cancer. Finished masks will be auctioned at a gala event in April, 2011.

OREWILER EXHIBITS NEW SERIES
Now exhibiting Orewiler's 39°58N 83°00'W series
Member artist Ryan Orewiler has been working with silkscreen. Through experimentation and innovation he brings new techniques to his latest series titled 39°58N 83°00'W which illustrates Columbus, Ohio landmarks. Ryan enjoys the challenge of creating and using graphics with his unique direct approach.

DEBBIE JACKSON TEACHES POLYMER WORKSHOP IN WVA Polymer Clay artist, Debbie Jackson taught four workshops at the annual Polymer Clay and Mixed Media Retreat at Shepherdstown University in West Virginia last month. Techniques included surface treatments on beads, earrings, and her 'Bull's Eye Beetles.' These intriguing brooches have been a hit at Studios on High Gallery, where they are on display. HIMSWORTH MIDWEST SWEEP SHOWCASES NEW DIMENSIONS
Beth Himsworth made her annual sweep of Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo exhibiting at four juried fine arts festivals. This was the first showing in the region of Beth's new dimensional works, which are currently on view at Studios on High Gallery.

SNEDECOR ON ANOTHER MAGAZINE COVER
Marcia's painting "Heart Chakra" has been selected for the cover Inner Tapestry magazine's October issue.
Marcia Snedecor's 'Gaia's Blessing' has been selected for publication in the fall 2010 issue of SageWoman, a spirituality magazine based in Forest Grove, Oregon. Three of Marcia's images were recently purchased by Bonanza Productions for use on sets for a new TV series on FOX. "Past Life" is set to premiere in 2010.
Marcia's painting, "Prayer & Invocation" was published by Hay House in a card deck entitled "Angel Therapy" by author Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. Prints of this image are available on Marcia's website. Marcia also created an additional five images for the deck. In addition, Marcia's work has been published in "Daily Guidance From Your Angels" also by Doreen Virture.
Marcia's artwok has been selected again for publication in the in We'Moon 2011 datebook.
Marcia's painting "Queen of the Glen" is the cover art for Maia Oden's recently released CD entitled "Hidden Queen".

ROMECKI RECEIVES COMMISSION
Romecki Commission at Dance Matters OhioDance commissioned Denise Romecki to create two ceramic sculptures. They will be presented as awards during the Festival and Conference, "Dance Matters: Move Your Imagination," held at Oberlin College.
