Deb Johnson

Fiber Art

Inspired by her materials…

Two-dimensional works are randomly stitched from deconstructed fabric, raw fiber, yarn and other materials in what appears to be accidental collisions of color. The result is a unique textural collage that draws the viewer in.

Deb’s background includes traditional fiber arts -- hand spinning, dyeing and knitting. Yet, textile collage offers a unique avenue for painterly exploration and expression. In addition to exhibiting at Studios on High Gallery, Deb 's work has been shown at the Ohio Designer Craftsman's Winterfair, and the Penrod Show at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
