Art is the end result of imagining, thinking, planning, problem-solving, and execution. The completed work contains the journey. In this exhibit, printmaker and ceramicist Jennifer Jolley Brown provides a glimpse into how her art came to be. Woodblock prints emerge from carved cherry plywood. Etchings materialize on thin sheets of acrylic. Vessels and sculptures reflect their origins as thumbnail sketches.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Columbus-based artist Jennifer Jolley Brown’s current artistic practice is focused on printmaking and ceramics. She teaches printmaking at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center in Columbus. She was the artist-in-residence at the Grange Insurance Scioto Audubon Center from January-March 2025.

In 2025, her work was exhibited in multiple shows hosted by the Ohio Art League as well as the Women of Appalachia juried exhibit at the Dairy Barn in Athens, Ohio and the Zanesville Museum of Art’s 79th Annual Exhibition. Her work was accepted into the 2025 Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, where she received the Phoenix Cooperative Printmaking Award in the Professional Division for her collagraph print, “Carton of Cows,” and the Ohio Artist Registry 2025 Juried Exhibit, where she received a Juror’s Award for her woodblock print, “The Ohio Theatre.”
